We have a large network of supporters, contributors, and note writers that contribute vastly to our production. Assembly is done by Tyler Beauchesne, Curran Moholkar, and Bharathan Sundar. We are always looking for people to join our team!
The original idea for our project came from Brookline's Noah Schwartz, who founded an initiative to provide care packages to local neighbors in March. At ARHS we started in early April 2020, with the goal of supporting and encouraging those most effected by COVID-19. Since then we have delivered 100s of bags to nursing homes and hospitals and continue to make more.
We focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community members directly affected by COVID-19, such as at-risk senior citizens and healthcare workers. Our assemblers and contributors provide the momentum that helps us affect change. Using uplifting treats and messages, we provide a boost to those who need it most.
Thanks to generous donations from the greater Algonquin community, we have received more than 250 dollars in donations, as well as hundreds of supplies from the Algonquin school store. We hope to use these efforts to donate 1000 packages to affected communities in the next month!
Through the support of other schools working with similar goals across Massachusetts, the future of Tennis Treat Bags is looking incredibly bright! Our organization has expanded to other schools around the world, including those in Connecticut, Canada, and Israel! By spreading our cause through social media and word of mouth, we will be able to spread joy to communities affected by COVID across the globe!
